Engaging event app with chat

Joynr is a social app that focuses on events in and around frinend groups and social networks rather than the event itself. The purpose of the app is to inspire communities or friend groups to organize events, talk and share images through the event channels,

It was of great importance that CTAs to media sharing, messages, and participants would be distinctive of the event listing.

My Process 

1. UI improvement/Redesign

I redesigned an existing app to improve the UI, interactions points and to make the app more user-friendly. It needed some rearranging of the user-flow for it to make more sense to the user.  

While I improved the UI the branding started to grow.

2. Branding

My desire was to use more "unusual color combinations". So the app would feel more inventive and fun. 

The apps that are used for similar purposes use black, white, and most often blue or raspberry red as the main color.

The logo and color combinations should feel playful, fun, happy, and make you smile!

- I made the logo in cursive for fun sake. 😉

- Used the "J" into a symbol and is available to use for app icons.

- Selected a plain outline icon library that had some "odd" details for fun sake. (I did not make the icons myself, but they contribute a lot to the playful feeling of the app.

3. Prototype

In order to communicate easier with developers and potential product owners, I made a prototype. The developers could inspect the assets and sizes through a inspect link. But see my desired flow with the help of the prototype.
